Huddersfield : Experimental Cartography

Attempts to represent Huddersfield as a Palimpsest of appearance and erasure whilst providing a spatio-temporal narrative to the project. Juxtaposing the scanned spaces and demarcating their revealed territories.

These initial layers depict the two markets in Huddersfield, sites where I have reconstructed photogrammetry data. The shifting territories of the market, selling space becoming public, then private when unused, territorial overspill to the surrounding streetscape and the reinterpretations of the Temporary Contemporary shop fronts within the piazza centre.

These ephemeral zones dissolve the permanence of the surrounding streetscape, creating ambiguous territories with shifting functions.
